HarneTech Holds Forum on Energy Efficient InvestmentsArlington Heights, IL – There was a high level of interest among attendees at today’s special forum on “Building Efficiency & Renewable Energy Investments: Going Forward in a Tough Economic Environment”. Executives from businesses, municipalities and other organizations attended the session, co-sponsored by the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce and HarneTech LLC.
“We felt that businesses in our area would have interest in a forum on how to realize a return on their investment in ‘going green’, and attendance exceeded our expectations,” noted Jon Ridler, Executive Director of the Chamber.
The session featured a panel of five presenters. Cris Arens and Mike Putz of HarneTech, focused on energy audits, the sustainability process, and ROI and financing issues in realizing greater energy efficiency in the current economic environment. Sanjiv Chadha of NWS Architects spoke on architectural and design issues involved in “building green.” George Tuhowski of Leopardo Construction discussed construction issues in the “green building industry.” Marty Bhatia of OM Development LLC spoke on renewable energy technology and energy efficiency implementation, relative to the Chicagoland area, including the merits of building certification via Energy Star.
“HarneTech was founded to assist businesses and other organizations implement ‘green’ technology, to both enhance and protect the environment and realize cost savings,” stated Cris Arens. “Businesses, other organizations and government have come to recognize that this must be a priority in the future. The expected economic stimulus package projected for early 2009 is expected to reflect our country’s commitment toward greater energy efficiency. The IRS and other governmental agencies have already proposed and implemented incentives to businesses to help them attain this goal.”
