Solar Photovoltaic

For decades now, the sun's energy has been harnessed to create electricity, also known as photovoltaics.  This is not science fiction, and in the U.S. there are many installations where the building owners get 100% of their electricity from photovoltaic devices.  The technology continues to improve, but it is ready to install today.

HarneTech has direct access to a variety of top of the line solar photovoltaic products through its dealership status with AEE Solar.

Modules:  Evergreen, REC, Kyocera, Schott

Inverters:  Enphase, SMA, Xantrex, Solectria

Racking:  Unirac, SnapNrack, Wattsun

Each photovoltaic project will be very different based on cost, goals, shading, efficiency, space availability, mounting issues, etc.  For the installation of our systems HarneTech works with local electricians and contractors, and we represent multiple products in this area.

The first step is a solar site assessment which is completed by HarneTech technicians for free. If your location is found to be a good candidate for a solar system, the next step is a solar design.

HarneTech's technicians help you weed through the options, and choose the appropriate system for your building.

Contact HarneTech today to discuss the exciting products in this area.

Photovoltaics in Illinois

Illinois is a net-metering state, which means that ComEd is required by law to install meters that are able to run backwards when your photovoltaic system is generating more electricity than you are using. Therefore, you can generate electricity during the day, and use the power company in the evening and perhaps receive a credit from ComEd at the end of the month.

Supplementing the power generated by the utility companies is a good way to become environmentally sustainable, and there are tax and rebates available to encourage investments in photovoltaic systems.
